RECIPE HIGHLIGHTS | Made with locally-sourced, sustainable products

In 2023, C-TRAN took a significant step toward a zero-emission future by putting 10 battery-electric buses into service. It marked the first time C-TRAN has used all-electric, zero-emission vehicles in the regular fixed-route fleet.

They won’t be the last—in the coming years, C-TRAN will continue to transition our fleet to zero-emission vehicles, with the goal of becoming an entirely zero-emission fleet by 2040. Existing diesel-powered buses will be gradually phased out along the way.

C-TRAN’s Zero Emission Bus Transition Plan focuses on two types of vehicles: battery-electric buses, now in service, and hydrogen fuel cell electric buses, which could start rolling a few years down the road. C-TRAN will try out both technologies and ultimately choose the path that works best for our agency and our community.

Our zero-emission vehicles are one of many ways we strive to be sustainable in everything we do. C-TRAN is a certified Clark County Green Business, reflected in the day-to-day practices we use to reduce our environmental impact.
