As we look back on 2024, it was a year of change for C-TRAN. Some change was very visible: When our new Operations building opened in July, it was a long-awaited home base for our drivers and other key Operations staff. It was also part of a larger redevelopment at our 65th Avenue campus that has positioned C-TRAN to meet critical needs today, and continue to thrive in the future.

We’ve also welcomed some new faces in key places, among them Annette Shaw as Chief Operating Officer and Afthab Zainudeen as Chief Information Officer. Laura Merry and Scott Patterson, both long-time leaders of this agency, took on new duties as Deputy Chief Executive Officers. When I stepped into the role of Chief Executive Officer in March 2024, the C-TRAN team had already done incredible things. I believed then, as I do now, that even brighter days are ahead.
We’re continuing to grow The Vine, with two corridors now operating and two more in planning. We’re investing in C-TRAN’s zero-emission future. We’re creating new partnerships in the community. Meanwhile, we notched our third consecutive year of ridership increases in 2024.
Here’s what hasn’t changed: C-TRAN’s commitment to being a positive presence in Clark County. As our mission states, we’ll always strive to connect people to opportunities, support economic vitality and enhance quality of life for the community. Those aren’t empty words. I’m excited to see what we can accomplish together.
