Vancouver, WA—The Current, C-TRAN’s on-demand rideshare service, has officially launched in Battle Ground.

The service expanded into Battle Ground on Sunday, September 14, as part of C-TRAN’s fall service changes. The Current is now available seven days per week in Battle Ground, providing transportation access anywhere within the city limits. It also allows people to more easily connect to Route 7, which connects Battle Ground to Vancouver Mall Transit Center and the rest of the C-TRAN system.

“The Current is a key part of C-TRAN’s transportation network, and we’re thrilled to bring this type of on-demand service to Battle Ground for the first time,” said Leann M. Caver, C-TRAN’s Chief Executive Officer. “More transportation options create more access and opportunity. I want to thank our partners in Battle Ground for their support in making this exciting change a reality.”

The Current originally launched in 2022 in five service zones: Camas/Washougal, Ridgefield/La Center, WSU Vancouver/Salmon Creek, Rose Village, and the Port of Vancouver. Battle Ground now becomes the sixth service zone of The Current. It will follow the same operating hours as most other service zones: 5:30am to 7pm on weekdays, and 8am to 6pm on weekends.

The Current provides door-to-door service anywhere within a service zone, or direct connections to other C-TRAN routes and services. Passengers can use the service for same-day rides on demand or schedule in advance. The Current has grown in popularity each year, carrying more than 34,000 trips in 2024 alone.

The expansion of The Current to Battle Ground is part of a series of other service changes that took effect this week. Others include a new Route 12, serving the 112th Avenue corridor in Vancouver, plus realignments to Route 19 and Route 92. C-TRAN also invested additional trips on numerous other existing routes.
