What is C-VAN?
C-VAN is C-TRAN’s ADA paratransit service. What is paratransit service? The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990 is civil rights legislation that protects people with disabilities from discrimination. In response to the ADA, C-TRAN established its complementary paratransit service, C-VAN. People with disabilities who are unable to use C-TRAN’s accessible fixed-route bus to travel may apply for paratransit eligibility.
C-VAN service is comparable to regularly scheduled fixed-route bus service in that it is available during the same days and hours, including weekends and holidays. If there is regular fixed-route bus service available, C-VAN will be available. If there is no regular fixed-route bus service available, C-VAN will not be available.
Those who are eligible for C-VAN can make reservations one to two days in advance and travel from their origin address to their destination address, as long as both are within the service area.
