Travel Training options

C-TRAN’s Customer Experience team offers free training to help riders access the bus service successfully. Travel training includes the following:

  • Instruction about how to travel from a specific origin to a specific destination. This involves designing a highly individualized path of travel and delivering route instructions on the street and transit vehicle.
  • A general overview and orientation of the public transportation system. This covers tasks such as reading a schedule, identifying a stop location, purchasing the fare, recognizing when the desired stop has been reached and using the transit vehicle accessibility features.
  • Instruction on how to use personal mobility devices on public transportation. This includes safely boarding, riding and deboarding vehicles.
Information on using the internet, smartphones and computer technology to access trip-planning tools.

For more information or to set up an appointment for travel training, call C-TRAN’s Travel Training at 360-906-7433 (RIDE); or fill out the travel training request form on our website at c-tran.com/travel-training.

C-TRAN is Accessible

Our mission is to connect people to opportunities, support economic vitality, and enhance quality of life for the community for all. To meet this high standard, C-TRAN has taken steps to ensure:

  • All regular fixed route buses, all Vine bus rapid transit routes, transit centers and stations are fully accessible.
  • Vine routes are accessible directly from the platform, a ramp is available that extends for easier boarding.
  • Regular fixed route buses are equipped with either a boarding ramp or a power lift. All fixed route buses have “kneel,” function that lowers the first step closer to the curb for easier boarding.
  • All buses have priority seating near the front door available for wheelchair users and those with limited mobility.
  • Accessible connections to TriMet LIFT

C-VAN provides connections to TriMet’s paratransit service, LIFT. Connections occur at the Parkrose Transit Center (off I-205), Delta Park/Vanport Transit Center (off I-5) for connections to MAX, or at Jantzen Beach (off I-5). Riders must make a separate reservation with TriMet LIFT at 503-962-8000. Ride reservations on LIFT are separate from C-VAN and require additional fare. You must contact each program separately.
