Vancouver, WA: The eighth and final installment in C-TRAN’s series of special community bus designs will be unveiled Wednesday, March 11. The latest edition will feature an overall Clark County-themed design to finish the series. The bus will be staged outside the Clark County Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St. in Vancouver, in advance of the annual State of the County event that begins at 6 p.m.
Previous bus designs have featured each of the other jurisdictions in C-TRAN’s service area: Battle Ground, Vancouver, Camas, Ridgefield, Washougal, La Center and Yacolt. Designs include photos of local landmarks in and around each community.
Each bus design in the series is printed on a full vinyl wrap covering a 40-foot vehicle. Previous wraps were created and installed by Ballyhoo, a Camas-based company. The final wrap in the series is being produced by APM Printworks of Beaverton, Ore. Photography and design work for the project are done in-house by C-TRAN staff.
Designs rolled out so far have become a point of pride for the communities that are highlighted, plus a way to showcase those communities to other parts of the county when the buses are in service elsewhere in the C-TRAN system. The wraps are permanent, and are expected to remain in the fleet for several years.
The Clark County bus will officially go into service later this month. As with past buses in the series, it will be rotated around various routes throughout the C-TRAN system.
C-TRAN is the regional public transportation provider for portions of Clark County. It offers Local bus service within its Clark County service area, Regional bus service to the nearest MAX light rail station, and Express commuter service to downtown Portland. It also provides Connector service within the city limits of Camas, La Center, and Ridgefield.
