Beginning September 11, 2026, all southbound lanes of Interstate 5 will close for up to five weeks as part of the I-5 Rose Quarter Improvement Project in Portland. Southbound I-5 will be closed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, from Interstate 405 to Interstate 84.

Significant delays are expected, and multiple C-TRAN routes will be on detour. The following routes will be affected:

  • Route 60 will serve Jantzen Beach only on northbound trips all day.
  • Route 105 service to downtown Portland will be suspended. It will be replaced with an alternate service connecting 99th Street Transit Center, downtown Vancouver and the Delta Park/Vanport MAX station.
  • Route 105X will continue to serve downtown Portland, but will do so on SW 6th Avenue all day. Buses will serve the Rose Quarter on northbound trips only. Trips will depart 99th Street Transit Center earlier due to expected traffic.
  • Route 190 will provide service to Marquam Hill/OHSU from Fisher's Landing Transit Center instead of Andresen Park & Ride.

Passengers should plan for extra time. Travel may take two to three times longer than usual. Southbound I-5 traffic may back up into Vancouver at times, which could also cause delays on Local bus routes serving the downtown Vancouver area.
