C-TRAN's busiest transit center is about to get roomier.
On Tuesday, September 13, a ribbon-cutting ceremony will celebrate the expansion of Fisher's Landing Transit Center, which will soon have nearly 200 additional parking spaces and other new features to serve the hundreds of riders who use the facility every day. The event will begin at 4:30 p.m. in the south lot of the transit center, located at 3510 S.E. 164th Ave. in Vancouver. The C-TRAN Board of Directors meeting will immediately follow at 5:30 p.m. in the Rose Besserman Community Room at Fisher's Landing Transit Center.
Construction crews this summer added 198 parking spots to the south side of the transit center. The project also installed five electric vehicle charging stations, improved lighting and additional disabled parking. Construction was funded by a state regional mobility grant.
Fisher's Landing Transit Center previously had 561 parking spaces. The facility is often at or near capacity on weekdays. The transit center is an important hub in the C-TRAN system, served by seven fixed bus routes, C-VAN and the Connector. It's also a key focal point for travelers in east Clark County, including Camas and Washougal.
