How far in advance can I book rides?
You can book same-day rides, or book one to two days in advance. Rides booked two days in advance will be verified 24 hours before the ride.
For the service hours does the 7:00 p.m. time mean that the ride needs to be completed by then or that is the last pick-up time?
Service hours designate first pick-up and last drop-off times. Service starting at 5:30 a.m. means 5:30 a.m. is the earliest pickup, and 7:00 p.m. means all drop-offs must be completed by 7:00 p.m.
How do I make sure I arrive by a certain time?
When booking, make sure to specify “Arrive by” when scheduling your trip. “Leave now” or “Leave at” times may fit your schedule now, but can change depending on demand. Guarantee your arrival by using “Arrive by.”
The time of my booking changed. What happened?
Depending on how you book, whether using “Arrive by” or “Leave at,” your pick-up time may change. Be prepared for your pickup at least 10 minutes before your scheduled time. If you need to leave at a certain time, use “Leave at” when booking.
I tried to book a trip within the service hours, but was told there is no trip available. What happened?
A number of factors could impact the availability of a trip at any given time. If you see that a trip is not available, first make sure your booking time is during operating hours. If it is, the vehicle may be busy or temporarily offline at the moment. Try booking again in a few minutes or call C-TRAN Customer Service at 360-695-0123.
What is the cost to ride The Current?
The fare is the same as Local fixed-route bus service.
Can I use my Hop Card on The Current?
Yes, all Current vehicles are equipped with Hop readers.
Can I get a transfer or day pass when paying cash fare?
Yes. Transfers are provided with cash payments upon request.
Can I get the Honored Citizen discounted price on The Current?
Yes. When booking the ride, remove the default Adult passenger. Instead, add a Reduced passenger for the correct fare to show.
What type of seats can I book?
- If you are passenger with bike, you can book a seat with Regular (bike) option. Bike racks, when available, have the capacity for two bikes.
- If you require accessible seating, you can book a seat with Accessible option. You also have the option to add an additional companion traveling with you as a Regular Seat.
- If you use a mobility device, select “Wheelchair” or “Lift Needed” when booking
I travel to the same location frequently, can I save my home, work, or other favorite locations for next time?
Yes. Riders can save favorite destinations in the app, on book.ridethecurrent.com, or add favorite locations in their rider profile.
Can I book a trip for someone else on my account if I’m not traveling with them?
No. You may book a trip for multiple people if you are traveling with them. If they are traveling independently, they must create an account to ride.
I am riding with a child. Does The Current have booster/child seats on board?
Child seats are required by Washington law based on age and height. C-TRAN does not provide booster/child seats. Booster/child seats must be installed by the rider.
What if I am traveling with a service animal or pet?
Service animals are always welcome, as required by law. At this time, The Current cannot accommodate pets.
Where can I take The Current?
There are five service zones on The Current: WSU Vancouver/Salmon Creek, Ridgefield/La Center, Camas/Washougal, Rose Village, and the Port of Vancouver. If the pickup and dropoff locations are inside the service zone, any rider can use The Current for any trip purpose. There are no eligibility requirements. Riders can also access certain transfer locations outside of The Current service zones, such as a transit center or fixed route stop adjacent to that service zone.
Can I take The Current to 99th Street Transit Center?
Yes, a rider can access 99th Street Transit Center on The Current from the WSU Vancouver/Salmon Creek service zone. The Current does not go to 99th Street Transit Center from the Ridgefield/La Center service zone.
How can I get to ilani from Vancouver?
Route 48 provides direct service from 99th Street Transit Center to ilani. Riders may also travel to ilani using The Current from anywhere in the Ridgefield/La Center service zone.
Can I get dropped off outside the service area if my ride starts inside one?
No. With the exception of specified fixed route stops or transit centers, trips on The Current must start and end inside the service area.
Can I take The Current to the Amtrak station?
Yes, you can take The Current to the Amtrak station from designated fixed-route stops in downtown Vancouver, or from anywhere in the Port of Vancouver service zone.
Can I get dropped off outside the service area if my ride starts inside one?
No. With the exception of specified fixed route stops or transit centers, trips on The Current must start and end inside the service area.
Can I change my pickup location or destination?
You cannot change your existing ride booking. However, you can cancel your ride and book a new ride that suits your pick-up location or destination.
