It goes without saying that things are a lot different in Clark County than they were two months ago. Like everyone, C-TRAN has done its best to navigate an uncertain season and adapt to sometimes rapidly changing situations.
We’ve also been humbled by the amount of support shown to C-TRAN and other essential workers during the past several weeks. We’ve been honored to participate in some of the tributes to the people out serving this community every day. There have been many recent examples showing – again – why this is a great place to call home.
We’ll keep Clark County moving for those who need to travel. Below are a few of the ways you continue to move us:
In March, a group of C-VAN drivers picked up 85 emergency food boxes from the Clark County Food Bank and delivered them to seniors in need. Food deliveries have continued in the weeks since during a time of increased need for the county.
C-TRAN received donated masks from both the Portland-based International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees Local 28 and the Vancouver Chinese Association in early April. These donated masks helped protect our operators while freeing up more medical-grade masks for health professionals on the front lines. C-TRAN has since acquired additional masks for all employees, and we urge riders to wear masks on the bus to help keep others healthy and safe.

A series of “Google Doodles” on the Google home page honored essential workers in April. On April 14, it was transit’s turn in the spotlight.
On April 15, the kind folks at Front Door Realty delivered bagels and other treats from Seize the Bagel to C-TRAN employees. Front Door Realty owner Julie Baldino says her team has done its best to support essential workers across the community in recent weeks, including those who might be feeling overlooked.
On April 16, C-TRAN joined public transportation agencies across the nation in a “Sound the Horn” tribute to transit drivers and other essential workers. Our buses proudly honked their horns in unison to thank those serving their communities.

C-TRAN has proudly participated in weekly rolling tributes to various essential workers in Clark County, organized by Clark County Fire District 6. Stops so far have honored healthcare workers, grocery store workers and others.
